About Us
2012 marks the 5-year anniversary of the Heart of a Warrior Charitable Foundation. In a short period of time, this foundation has achieved amazing recognition by its community leaders and constituents. It is our hope that the impact of our programs is recognized by every citizen in this city. Our Young Warriors Summer Learning Program has grown from a mere 50 children at Willie B. Johnson Recreation Center in the Hamilton Park community of North Dallas to service nearly 400 students at two additional locations- St. Philips School and Community Center in South Dallas and Juanita J. Craft Recreation Center in the Frazier Courts Community of South East Dallas.
Heart of a Warrior Charitable Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public non-profit, launched in early 2007 by founder, Gail Warrior. Gail is President of Warrior Group, the country’s largest minority and woman-owned provider of premier construction services specializing in permanent modular and construction management.
The Foundation’s mission is to generate, execute and facilitate programs and resources that provide total enrichment opportunities that are educational, cultural, experiential and life enhancing, through programs targeting underserved children. Our main focus is on academic, enrichment, because we realize that education can have a positive impact on crime, support for working families, provide academic skills needed to advance in education and keeping kids safe. It is our hope that the enrichment opportunities we help provide will be a catalyst for a brighter future for these children.
