Heart of a Warrior Supports Girls Incorporated of Metropolitan Dallas

In support of Girls Incorporated of Metropolitan Dallas, Heart of a Warrior Charitable Foundation Awards $20,000. As a foundation our aim is to identify other non-profit organizations that are doing great work in their community supporting underserved children. Certainly this fits Girls Inc. perfectly. Girls Inc. strives to empower girls ages 6 to 18 years old to make them Strong, Smart and Bold.

The Inaugural Heart of a Warrior Golf Tournament Surpasses Highest Expectations

The group of volunteers that pulled off our first Tournament was a text book example of team effort.  We had over 30 active volunteers, who put together a Herculean effort in make our first golf tournament a huge success.  Our Title Sponsor, Hensel Phelps was also a key to our success.  Their early Diamond level sponsorship gave us a financial kick start.   We owe Hensel Phelps a big “thanks” as well.

The biggest reward from all our efforts was the knowledge that the funds raised would be going directly toward our mission…to server underserved children.  The first example of this is that we were able to present to Girls Incorporated of Metropolitan Dallas a check for $20,000 during our awards dinner.

I could go on and on about how great I thought it was.  But, perhaps it is best to let others do the talking for me.  Below are quotes from people involved in the tournament, who have a great deal of experience with tournaments.

“Let me ask you again, that was your first tournament?  That was one of the tightest run tournaments that I have attended.
- Charles Kallassy, Long Drive Pro and inventor of the Kallassy Magic Club

“I play in about 35 of these types of events a year and this one started off with a bang. Way to make it happen...”
- Mike “Scooter” McGruder, NFL Celebrity

“I think this was by far one of the most successful tournaments I have ever been associated with.  I appreciate being a part of it ... This is unheard of, especially in your first tournament.  Just wait until next year…”
- Randy Floyd, Our Golf Guru

“I agree with Randy.  It was one of the most successful and fun tournaments.  Everyone told me how much fun they had, even with the rain. “
- Betty Floyd, CFO of Warrior Group and experienced golf organizer

Now that is what I call powerful endorsements.  It is a true testament to the vision of our board Chairperson, Gail Warrior-Lawrence, who had the foresight to dream big, and professionalism of the team that made it happen.
